Bethel Development Centre Thank God for an eventful but fruitful mission trip to Bethel Development Centre (BDC) at Chiang Rai, North Thailand from 1 – 12 December 2008. The closure of the Bangkok Suvarnabhumi International Airport arising from the political unrest there caused the team to rely even more on the Lord to ensure smooth travel connections and safety. Thank God that the team of about 20 youths led by Elder Boaz Boon managed to cheerfully serve the Lord at BDC by building fences around the BDC compound, teaching in Sunday School, conducting Youth Seminar, participating in their annual youth sports day, presenting musical Christmas cantata in the Lahu language, carolling over three nights to about 90 families in the villages, teaching in their leadership programme and simply enjoying fellowship with old and young alike. This trip, being a follow-up to several other trips over the past few years, has further strengthened the Christian fellowship amongst CtYF youths and those at the BDC. Through it all, we experienced God’s marvellous leading at every stage. We experienced a little of what it means when God says, “I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name.” (Revelation 3:8) |
